Sarah had been bugging her parents to let her host a sleepover for months. They finally agreed, so she came to us for some tips on how to make it the most amazing party ever! Here's what we told her:
> Pick a menu, games, movie and music, and set a loose schedule
> Have everyone sleep in a star formation – heads in the middle – so no one gets left
out on the end.
> Plan a main activity that'll keep everyone busy and work together. Try one of these:
Clothing swap: bring clothes or accessories you are bored of and trade them to give old clothes a new life.
Makeover madness: stock up on different nail polish and makeup shades, hair accessories and even washable haircolour. Always get parents' permission before changing anyone's haircolour, even if it's temporary!
Wii Olympics: Borrow a Nintendo Wii and set up a Wii Sports tournament.
Kitchen invasion: Plan a menu you can handle, like banana splits, cupcake decorating, pizza making, etc.
> Pick something to watch at the end of the evening.
> Don't forget to plan breakfast for the morning after.
While everything didn't go entirely as planned – the digital camera died and they had to resort to a disposable one, and Sarah’s little sister insisted on being part of the makeover session – they all had an awesome time! They can't wait until next month when it's Keisha's turn!
